NATIVE AMERICAN MONTH OBSERVED AT ST. MATTHEW
Special Native American Worship Service and Education on Sunday, November 18, 2018.
MEDINA, November 8, 2018. St. Matthew will observe Native American month on Sunday, November 18 at the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services. Franchot Ballinger, a retired professor in history from the University of Cincinnati, will play the Native American flute and discuss the role of flutes in Native American culture. Native American songs and prayers will be utilized from the Lutheran American Indian Ministries. The children’s sermon will be an Indian story, “Legend of the Turtle”.
Between services there will be a presentation of the Gospel of the American Indian which will look at the religion and culture of the Native Americans led by local historian, John Burke.
