5 Star Ministry

Comprehensive Youth offers opportunity for personal growth for all our youthful members. From the birth of a child through graduation, our comprehensive youth program touches lives.  From a supervised nursery for our babies and a Splash Club for the newly baptized, to a Preschool Play Group, to pew bags from our youngest worshipers, to Christian Education and Vacation Bible School, to Youth Operation Munchies Service (YOMS) for grades 3-5, to First Communion and Confirmation retreats and classes, to Fun Fellowship for 6-8 grades, to choirs for pre-school through eighth grade, to Luther League and national Lutheran Youth Gatherings for those in high school, we offer learning, fun, fellowship and growth.

Communication Evangelism enables us to share the Good News of Jesus in a variety of ways including our regular newsletter named WINGS and this web-site.  We also record our worship and produce both videotapes and DVDs for local use, including delivering them to local nursing homes.  We have seasonal advertising in our local papers and occasional involvement in Medina County’s Family Affair.

Congregational Life encompasses our worship life, our one-on-one Stephen Ministry, our Parish Nurse and Health and Wellness ministries, our Friendly Visitors and Eucharistic Ministers, our Sunshine Ministry and Prayer Chain, and our Medical Equipment Library.  Our Shepherding Team seeks to engage members in ministry using their spiritual gifts and also helps incorporate newer members into our congregation.

Social Concerns seeks to help our community by providing housing for the homeless at our apartments (Promise Place), our home (Faith House), and through participation in Operation HOMES.  We also gather resources during our hunger month (usually March), participate in Operation Christ Child at Christmas, support a Kiev Music Ministry, and have a fledging Disaster Response Team.   We seek to serve Christ locally and globally.

Small Groups offer an array of activities.  We gather to study the bible at a number of times.  Men gather during the early morning hours and the women a bit later on Tuesdays.  Two adult study groups meet during the evening hours.  Our Relay for Life team is alive and walking.  We have gathered over $10,000 in our first two years of fighting cancer through this ministry.  We also have a Women’s Book Club, Women Writing Women Group, Christian Education for adults on Sunday morning, a Senior Happy Hour, and a Crafts and Conversation Group.  Bon Appetit meets to eat, and so do those who attend our Chili Cook-Off!  Once in a while you may see us bowling, or road-rallying or … well you get the idea … we just have a lot of fun!
