Message from our Parish Nurse

“Wear Red Sunday”Sunday, February 14

It’s that time again.....to pull out that red sweater, or red tie or Red Dress pin! The American Heart Association again is sponsoring the “Go Red” awareness movement –raising awareness of heart disease in women, and helping them make healthy lifestyle changes. But this year is different, as everything is. We will not be attending in-person Sunday services at the church. That does not deter us from wearing something, anything, RED on February 14th. Especially since it is Valentine’s Day! In the meantime, you can go on the web site: www.goredforwomen.org to learn the most updated information about heart disease in women in the United States; and what you can do, for yourself, to prevent it from happening to you. There is also a link for a YouTube show, “Heart to Heart.” Some young women share their experiences with stroke and heart disease and important information that every woman needs to know about her health.St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church has been very active in supporting the “Wear Red Sunday” in years past. I trust this year will be just as first-class.

In His Service,
Brenda Disbrow, Parish Nurse
