St. Matthew is a congregation of Prayer.  Not only do we pray during our worship, but we also have an active Prayer group that meets weekly.  If you would like to ask for prayer for you or your loved ones, please click here.  As believers in Christ, we have an amazing privilege; our Heavenly Father invites us to talk to Him! In Jeremiah 29:12, He invites His children to speak and promises to listen: “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”

The Prayer Group meets each Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
Please contact Barb Woodard if you are interested in participating.

The church’s call to prayer is both public and private.  Public prayer in worship includes making intercessions for others during the prayers of the people.  The intent isn’t as much for the community to learn the needs of the named, but to offer to God with one voice names and concerns “either aloud or in our hearts.”  Prayers that are offered here on this website are a current list of those who have requested prayer. The names and needs are not exhaustive or complete. Like all prayer God hears before we name! In the same spirit as worship, the names are offered to God through us, “For God’s ears!” Pastor Bill Diehm
